Terms of Service

Welcome to Steamz! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Steamz website and services provided by Mavels Tech ("we", "us").

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the service.

2. User Accounts

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password.
  • Tutors must undergo our verification process before listing services.
  • Parents must provide a valid billing address for tax invoice generation.

3. Booking and Payments

All bookings must be made through the Steamz platform. Payments are collected by Steamz, and tutor professional fees are disbursed upon successful completion and verification of each session.

  • Payments are processed securely through Razorpay.
  • All amounts shown include applicable taxes (GST).
  • A Platform Fee is charged on each booking (see Section 6).
  • Tax invoices are generated and sent to your registered email.

4. Platform Fee

What is the Platform Fee?

Steamz charges a small Platform Fee on each session booking to cover booking facilitation, secure payments, customer support, and platform maintenance.

* Platform Fee is non-refundable except in cases of tutor no-show or technical failure.

5. GST and Tax Invoices

  • Mavels Tech is a GST registered entity (GSTIN: 29BZSPS1393C1ZT).
  • GST at 18% is applicable on tuition services provided by GST-registered tutors and on Platform Fees.
  • Tax invoices are auto-generated and sent to your email after payment.
  • For GST Input Tax Credit (ITC), ensure your billing address is complete and accurate.
  • We collect Tax Collected at Source (TCS) at 1% on behalf of tutors as per Section 52 CGST Act.
  • Parents are not liable for TDS; all tax compliance is handled by the platform.

6. Tutor Payouts

  • Tutors receive payouts weekly or on-demand (minimum ₹500).
  • A commission and handling fee is deducted from payouts.
  • TDS at 0.1% is deducted for tutors with valid PAN who cross ₹500000.00 in a Financial Year.
  • TDS at 5% is deducted for tutors without valid PAN verification.
  • TDS certificates (Form 16A) are issued quarterly.

7. Platform Rules & Community Guidelines

All users must abide by our Community Guidelines, which include detailed codes of conduct for Tutors, Parents, and Students.

Users agree not to:

  • Circumvent the platform for payments (disintermediation).
  • Post false or misleading content.
  • Harass or abuse other users.
  • Share personal contact details before booking confirmation.

Disclaimer of Liability

  • Steamz provides tutoring services but does not guarantee educational outcomes.
  • The platform is not responsible for offline interactions between users.
  • Users are encouraged to communicate only via Steamz tools for safety and dispute resolution.

8. Cancellation and Refunds

Please refer to our Refund Policy for detailed information on cancellations, refunds, and GST reversal procedures.

9. Data Protection

Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which complies with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
